    .....a beautiful
    VINTAGE 70's
Rhodochrosite good-luck(as the story goes..)charms-amulets-pendant form , rare to see in finished jewelry/charms) Measure 1in length, good condition, vintage 70's inventory never worn nor sold. Origin of rough: foothills of the Andes mountain range in Catamarca province (near city of Andalgala), Argentina.Map is not included in this auction & is only to depict the general area the rough was mined in for this particular Figa later handcrafted by local artisans.
This particular Rhodochrosite-rough the figa-pendant was carved from was mined in the renowned Capillitas-mine (famous for it's fine Rhodochrosite output for many decades, both pink, honey-brown (this one) and the elusive faceting grade used in fine jewels )......in
    Andalgalá-Province of Catamarca-Argentina in 70's
    and then carved into approx.
    1.0inch-figa
with the typical artisan finish of a rustic-gemstone pendant handcrafted by
local craftsmen from then & there
. The brown-tone-honey light-dark patterns are in a nice multi-brown-tonalities (rare to see so distinctive) ..... Condition:  good condition, unworn/never retailed piece from 1970's-inventory.
Figas (Pron. Feegah) are historically intertwined with good-luck beliefs (ea. country-origin has it's particular connotations...fertility, luck, fortune etc...no claims on this listing about that, obviously) in several countries, Brazil being the main one that uses this figure-motif very  frequently in their jewelry & charms ...often they are dressed with gems, gold tops, platinum, different gemstones (aqua, lapis, amethyst etc) and are also carved out of wood in an artisan rustic fashion similar to these; often the simple carvings are the ones with most beauty. These particular ones have that artisan-rustic-finish, with a beautiful rhodochrosite-high-polish
