Description
American Chestnut Folk Art was created by Pete and Diane Bretz in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania. (They gave a license to Coyne's & Company to make and distribute their folk art.) They specialize in creations representative of the past and even use antique American chestnut trees to carve the wooden originals. Then, they recreate the texture and grain of the American chestnut in their products. The American chestnut tree was decimated by a blight and is now near extinction. The company donates a portion of the sale to the American Chestnut Foundation.Up for bid is a cute, but distinctive looking sheep, # AM1058. The whole piece looks like it is an antique (old), but it was purposely made to look like an antique. But, if you like sheep and lambs and folk art, this is a nice decoration to add character to your home. And, it will look cute, whether in the kitchen or the family room. This is in

condition and has never even been displayed. It has the original Certificate of Authenticity and a name card. "Lily" has been stored in my closet in a smoke free home for at least 20 years. I just now opened it to inspect it and take photos. Note: While it is called a "pull toy", there is not the usual strap to pull this sheep. I did some research and none of the other "Lily's had a strap to pull the sheep. Nor, is there a spot to put a strap. (Of course, these creations are not made for children. Rather, they are to be used as decor.) And, "Lily" has a lot of character. Just look at her face.
Also, "Lily" has become rare
