In the 1980’s, the revolutionary Memphis Design Group broke onto the international design scene, smashing conventional style and introducing a radical new approach to color, texture, form and function.
During this same period, San Antonio artisan Dale Jenssen began creating one-of-a-kind jewelry that followed this innovative, postmodern movement. The sublimely sculptural earrings being offered here are an outstanding example of those pieces. Not for the faint of heart, the pair's big, bold, abstract motif is constructed of a kaleidoscopic collection of colors and an assembly of hand-cut rubber, textured plastic, and brushed silver aluminum elements—all brilliantly layered and interconnected to swing in whimsical, freeform fashion. Today, Jenssen is a nationally known metal and textile designer, and no longer produces jewelry, making these singular, art-to-wear adornments even more irresistible and collectible.
Hallmarks:
Unsigned (as is typical of Dale Jenssen jewelry). Although Jenssen did not sign her jewelry pieces, they are easy to recognize.

3-3/4" x 1-1/4”.
WEIGHT:
Each earring weighs a very comfortable 3.2 grams.
Condition:
Excellent to superior vintage condition. The pair is fitted with stainless steel French wires for pierced ears.
