Presented is a dated 2006 brooch by longtime Forest Grove, OR jewelry artist Mark Oberzil.
This brooch is inspired by nature and Art Nouveau design.
It depicts a blackbird perched on a cattail stalk as sinuously curving leaves surround it.
The blackbird is wonderfully detailed and made of blackened sterling silver and accented with a garnet cabochon in its wing.
The cattail stalk and leaves are made of brass with green enamel in the leaves.
The top of the cattail is copper.
Wonderful layered dimensional look on this enchanting design.
