These lovely old vintage pieces have as much grace and charm as its subject.
Crafted from a very old, antique 10x8 mm crystal intaglios, these elegant earrings feature a resting Buddha, garbed in her traditional costume and headpiece.
An intaglio is a reverse cameo where the carving is done on the underside of the crystal. When looking at the top or front of the crystal, the image is in a 3-dimensional form. This type of jewelry art work was very popular between the 1930's-1950's which makes pieces as this very unique, valuable and sought-after by vintage jewelry collectors.
The crystal intaglios are done on a deep red background with the carved
Buddha
done in gold. The pieces are strikingly exquisite!
The crystals are set in a gorgeous, vintage, raw brass filigree setting.  There is a beautiful 5mm engraved round gold bali bead connector. These elegant earrings are very  lightweight but bold in looks!
The earrings measure 2 1/4" in length and 1 1/8" across at widest point.
