SOLID 8K YELLOW GOLD AMETHYST EARRINGS FOR PIERCED EARS

Description

This is a pair of Solid 8K Yellow Gold Amethyst Earrings for Pierced Ears.  I recently acquired these at a local estate auction.  I believe they date from the 1940's or 1950's, maybe earlier.  They are clearly marked 333 (standard purity mark for 8K, probably made in Mexico) on the guards and acid test to 8K on the bezels.  They are done in plain yellow gold with a bright polished finish.  Each earring has a round engraved bezel holding a round cut Amethyst measuring 8mm in diameter.  As with all Natural Stones, each Amethyst has flaws visible with a Jeweler's Loupe and each of the stones have a slightly different color.  Overall, each earring measures 1/2 inch in diameter.  The pair of earrings weigh 3.5 grams on my digital postal scale.
