Vintage Mexican Folk Art Necklace & Earring Set - Handcrafted Jarrito Pottery

This extraordinarily beautiful necklace was hand-crafted in Tlaquepaque, Mexico about 40 years ago. It has a double-strand design of tiny handmade ceramic mugs in multiple colors. The mugs are graded in size from very tiny (~1/4") on the outside to larger (~3/4") in the center. The top strand has about 36 mugs, and the bottom strand has about 48 mugs. Strung and knotted with beads on 6 strands of dark tan satin cording, the workmanship is exceptional. This is an exquisite hand-crafted artisan piece. The set comes with dangling earrings with beads that match those in the necklace. The necklace is quite large, and will definitely make a strong statement, measuring 28" around the longest strand and the earrings are 2" from bottom of the hook.
