Vintage NIP 1964 Mother Pillowcover US Navy Training Center Great Lakes Illinois.

My older brother enter the Navy in the summer of 1964 and left in 1967. He must have sent this to my mother shortly after entering the training Center in Great Lakes, Illinois.
It is still in its original package, although the package has been opened. My mother must have opened it and put it back in with the intention of using it. However, she never did, so it sat in her bureau drawer until she passed away in 2013. Only recently did I begin going through her and my father's possessions, as I had to empty the house. Most of what I have been posting recently has been from there.
It is in its original condition, with creases from being folded and stored in its original package. It measures 17 in square, and should hold a pillow about 15 or 16 in square. I think it would also look nice framed. With a little simple modification, it could make a nice wall hanging.
It has a satiny finish with navy blue fringes along all four edges. It truly is in most excellent condition.

All the colors and patterns are bright, with absolutely no color runs, tears or moth holes. Only the creases, which are like they would have been when my mother received it in 1964, and I'm sure will come out.
